Courtney Hartman is a virtuosic flatpicking guitar player from Colorado. With DELLA MAE and in a solo career, Courtney (called by Acoustic Guitar magazine-‘staggeringly good’), plays guitar and banjo, writes and sings up a storm (see http://https://youtu.be/ljeZBBsCTms  and https://youtu.be/NFRr7Bnif9Y ). This month she is launching a ‘walk, write, record, sing’ journey along The Camino FRANCES (an 800 km journey).

Courtney is partly inspired by the work of Oliver Schroer – a musician / teacher who wrote music to celebrate his Camino journey. Oliver spent a lot of time on the Sunshine Coast, where Wit Works is located – a whole generation of young fiddlers took flight under his tutelage. It is a delight to see his influence spread to other players.

April and Courtney have been working on a variety of projects over the last 8 months and now April is meeting Courtney on her trek, to de-brief the experience, talk about learnings, do a little music; exploring Spain and the accumulated richness of stepping into a different landscape and time sensibility, and a very old culture.
