The BC CRN Association and April in her Regional Mentor role, personed a table at he 41st Annual Elder’s Gathering for BC, at Campbell River. About 3000 Elders and family and caregivers attended to renew family ties, see indigenous vendors wares, take part in cultural ceremony, and to have fun. Health and prevention strategies were offered as well as workshops on various topics. We talked to about 500 people, many of whom were interested in activities in their home communities which would strengthen protective factors for older adults. It was an honour to witness the role of elders close up, and to be included in conversations.
